What Can Amla Fruit Do For Your Hair?
Posted on May 2, 2015 by Gordon Beauty Blogger
Amla, a round hard fruit from India, is the main organic ingredient in Aveda’s new Thickening Tonic.
The newest addition to Aveda’s line of volumizing products is the Thickening Tonic. This 97-percent naturally derived tonic acts similarly to Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic, but offers additional benefits. Thickening Tonic adds volume from roots to ends, not just at the roots, which is what Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic does. Talk to your Gordon Salon stylist about which of these two products is right for you.
Thickening Tonic will work wonderfully on all types of hair, but it is especially useful for those with fine hair because of its weightless consistency. It won’t weigh your hair down and you can still use other products to complete your look.
When using Thickening Tonic you should spray it onto sections of damp hair from root to end, following with a round brush and a blowdryer that has a nozzle attachment, directing the airflow down over your hair. A light hairspray, such as Aveda’s Control Force, can be used to add structure to your look and keep every strand in place. By following these simple instructions you will find that your hair is left magnificently shiny with va-va-voom volume.
“It finishes with the perfect amount of weightless volume, shine and brushable style,” said Alexis Lopez, a Professional stylist at our Wilmette location, who loves using the new tonic on both her clients and herself. “My round brush glides right through, but the style still holds.”
A main component of this tonic is the amla fruit, which is the same thickening ingredient found in Aveda’s Invati line. It comes from the Indian amla tree and is used in the 5,000 year old Indian art of wellness for a wide variety of things.
