But what does it mean? To reduce is to not waste as much and/or cut back on something with the goal of being more environmentally friendly, such as 15-minute showers. Reusing is fun to me! You can repurpose so many items (check out Pinterest or YouTube for kind, simple projects) which will help the environment and the Earth. It’s truly so cool to see what you can transform just by not throwing it away (and with some hot glue). Out of all the three terms, recycle is probably the easiest to implement within your daily life. These days you can recycle many things and it’s so simple! Clothes can be donated to shelters, glass candle jars can be turned into containers for anything, old socks can become cleaning rags, shoeboxes are perfect for cute little places to store crafting or any kind of supplies. And now, something we call all do, beauty bottles can be recycled at all five Gordon Salon locations.

It looks beautiful when it’s scooped artfully, the layers and texture sitting in the waffle cone just right, but, if you step out into the heat, it melts. Now, in the context and case of hair, curly, wav, or coily hair usually will first spring up before it flattens completely due to our enemy humidity. We are grateful that Holly, a Cosmetology Educator and Senior Master Hair Designer at Gordon in the Glen, took the time to discuss her thoughts with us.
- [Your Go-To Look for Nailing that Important Zoom Meeting](https://gordonsalon.com/your-go-to-look-for-nailing-that-important-zoom-meeting/): It looks like Zoom meetings are here to stay, whether we like it or not. Everything from weddings to work meetings are now being conducted through video conferencing apps, as this allows us to regain a sense of normality and have face-to-face interactions with people while safely staying at home. USA Today notes that even Zoom interviews are now the new normal, and dealing with potential technological issues can make an already nerve-wracking meeting even more scary.
- [A “New Normal” at Gordon Salon](https://gordonsalon.com/a-new-normal-at-gordon-salon/): Illinois has implemented necessary measures in order to ensure the safety of all clients and staff in hair salons across the state. These precautions include that every single salon team member and guest will have to have their temperature read prior to entering the salon. This will be done with a no-touch thermometer. Additionally, salon services can only be performed on guests who are wearing masks. The employees will be wearing masks as well. We will also provide face shields for services where the stylist has to face the guest, like bang trims and shampoos. Due to the limited number of people allowed in the salon at a time, guests will be given new instructions for checking in and entering the building. Hand sanitizer will be provided and required to be used by both the guest and the stylist prior to beginning the service. As always, the capes, robes and towels are never reused between clients without being thoroughly sanitized.

Kyle fuels his fire by creating big hair changes and educating his guests with the proper hair knowledge based on their specific needs.
